because most people dont realise just how good these cars are, when they work

theyre pretty mutch the best hot hach of their time. people say the golf mk2 was better statistically the 205 has got better power to weight ratio, making a fractionally quicker acceleration.
The 205 is reputed to be one of the best handling cars in its class, loads of response from the wheel etc.
The 205 makes an excellent trackday/sprint/hillclimb car. reletavely cheap to buy and with a few hundred thrown at it, a standard Mi16 engine transplant can give 160-170bhp/tonne and a tuned mi16 (220bhp) in stripped out shell... well 250bhp/tonne is possible

they also have one of the best looking standard alloys ever

i think a standard GTi is better looking than a standard Corsa B (or nova as its true equivilant). theyre probably just as well equipped if not better. amnd they go like shit off a shiny shovel (when not in a garage ) unfortunately tho they are suffering reliability problems as im now fnding out :mad

personally, i dont like the look of the nova or the 205, of course, both very tunable cars, but now looking a bit dated as i prefer newer cars. all comes down to personal taste at the end of the day. so wots up with it ben?

alternator went tits up yesterday, car was running off the battery and then conked out when the volts or amps dropped too low. i had the alternator replaced yesterday but that was knackered too so its having another one fitted. also needs a new starter motor because it has a big problem with hot starts and an occasional sticky solenoid. and probably summat else will go wrong soon enough

^^ Yeah, thats the problem, if your on a budget, you can either fork out money 4a new car which isnt that mega powerful, or an old car that is - but the old will have its problems unfortunately.

Depends whether your into performance or looks, & are on a budget.
Personally, im into a bit of both.
