I need to remove the unit which turns on your headlights and foglights etc...as i want to change the colour of the illumination to blue.

Does anyone know how to get it out, without breaking anything?

cheers

First pull the knob off the front, and you should see two holes in the sides. You'll need two hooks that are about the size of a small terminal driver.

The unit is held in with two sprung clips that need to be pulled in towards the middle of the switch as well as being pushed back a bit, as if you were taking them to the middle of the switch stem
One of the springs

I used a pair of copper staples bent over to get inside the small holes on the end of the springs to pull them into the middle.

the hole in the end of the spring

When you have both springs sufficiently pulled in, the unit will fall into your lap!

It might be possible to remove this by taking off the lower panel, and reaching around to push the springs in and catch the unit on the other side, but this method is for front removal.

There's an osram twist in in the middle for the buttons and adjusters, but afaik it's a solder job for the top part of the switch

I found it to be a lot easier than this. Pull forward and push down the vent part to expose 2 screws holding the unit in place behind. Undo these screws and fidlle the unit about out of its place to get it out.

Thanx for that guys...i've done it now, it was a lot simpler to remove than i thought! Had a little problem with soldering the top led on, it was rather tricky to remove in the first place. Thanks again
