My previous post about vauxhall wanting 250 quid for just a downpipe on my GSi, heres the rest of the story...
...exhaust started blowing on the way to work the other day, really loud from the front, could tell it was just after the manifold, took it to Auto tyres and batterys in droitwich, they put it up on the ramp and said it needed a new cat and new downpipe, with a cost of £450+VAT, i thought fuck that and took the car away, took it to my local custom exhaust shop, they showed me underneath the vehicle, the cat hadnt gone, just a piece of the heat shield had broken off, and the downpipe they just cut off the flange that had broken off and welded a new one on,
cost me £60
some old cunt would have probably paid those other robbing fuckers

i never trust main dealers....
i never take a car somewhere without having a good look myself first....

and i can weld so any little job im sorted tricky complicated jobs ill pay for but if i can do it myself i will 
just need a half decent welder
