Right. First things first. I'm 19. I have 1 years NCD. I have Pass Plus (basically another 1 year NCD). I want a Skyline.

I'm really expecting a few replies to this thread with just a simple ' ' although I'm sure there are some of you who are more keen to help!

Obviously I won't be able to afford or insure something like a GTR-TT, however I've seen a few 2.0 non-turbo R33's about. I know its nothing compared to the higher spec ones, but its still a Skyline and I've always loved the car like everyone else.

Now, I'd like to know (seriously ) about insurance. R33's are pretty cheap to pickup considering their 'credentials', however insurance is a bit of a killer I'm presuming. I'm a bit to worried about calling up my insurance company and asking about it...it'll kill my dream so I'd rather you lot kill it instead.

I'm 19, 1 years NCD (with pass plus so assume 2 years NCD), I'll be looking for TPF&T and it'll be fitted with a cat 1 alarm/immobilser.

Will I get insured for under £1500 and who should I be going to? Is it worth the effort or am I running into a dead end?

Isn't Nismo 19, or wasn't he 19 when he first got the RX7?

Fuck me! Thats out the window then. Was looking for under £1.5k

Bet he really stretched the insurance to get that premium too...

Oh well...I might as well get started on it....not going to give up!

Whose best then? Probably a specialist on imports right? Adrian Flux etc?

Apologies if this sounds stupid but I'm not big on insurance groups. Are the mazda and skyline r33 2.0 non-turbo the same/similar insurance group then?

TBH...even a 2.0 non-t skyline which I would leave perfectly unmodified would be more than good enough for me. Just love the damn car

Skyline 2.0 non turbo (if there's such a thing) will be alot less to iusnure than a tt rx7 tho

Why do u want one anyway they don't look like gtr's u know which is the only reason u might even have considered a dog slow 2.0 n/a

Still a lot better than a 1.4 corsa

At least I can say I own a Skyline. Then watch their faces erupt when they see its a 2.0 non turbo

Thanks for the replies. Still investigating.

I'm really going to have a go at getting a decent quote...before I just went with NU on the Corsa which suited me. Anyone reccommend some decent Import or Jap car insurance companies?

Nismo + Adam....browsing your 'My Garage' pics makes me want one even more...slowly getting addicted to japness.

Thought you had to get rid of your car for other reasons.......then your wanting to buy half the cars in clasifieds and now a Skyline!
