I'm trying to open a cd and it keeps saying E:\ is not accesible. Anyone got any ideas what is wrong.

none of the above tried it with different cds forgot to mention it says incorrect function inderneath e:\ is not accesible.

cd drive not plugged in properly, wrong drivers installed/none installed

incorrect master/slave thing given

I've had CDs not read in one drive but works fine in another

Check if you got it on the same bus as your HD. HDs run faster than CD-ROMs. CD-ROMs are UDMA/ATA33 whereas HDs are UDMA/ATA33/66/100/133. Only the old systes -- i.e. Socket 7 systems will be running at 33.

the Cd is damaged..... it may work if u keep tryiing it if u do get it working take all the info off it cos it aint gonna work for too much longer.

the answer is 42, and anyone who cant see that is just wrong.
