i dont agree with vibrio. The ability dramatically cool the intercooler at full boost is gonna bring perfromance gains. If i can feel the difference with just air + water on my intercooler, imagine what dropping 30-40deg. at full boost would be like!

I've read 2 articles on the web of people with them, and they said the temp drop on a std intercooler (on some american truck) was far greater than anyone had ever seen with an FMIC. Only drawback being, its not on permanently, but then again, only 2% of my driving is hard anyway.

I fail to see how any kit which will leak CO2 into the engine bay which will most like get sucked up into the filer and then into the engine will be a good thing.

also truck intercoolers are designed for trucks not cars

Wot if the car is running an airbox with cold air feeds from down the side of the bumper, no where near the spray?? Sure then its gonna be useful?

yep like mine. i fail to understand Vibrio's reasons. My induction kit is well away from my intercooler which is in a sealed chamber anyway.

Its a good thing, especicially if u only need ur power occasionally

But how? i just dont believe it, Unless he was using a system whereby co2 was allowed to enter the induction system somehow (like vibs mentioned earlier).

Co2 could actually freeze the intercooler, and keep it very cold throughout hard acceleration, which IMO can only bring positive effects to the engine. Alot better than any air scoop or waterspray.

yeah probably. The people who are making up my kit have done it loads on Scoobs, Evos, loadsa other cars and have all had positive responses from all. The only real downside being its limited use. Get around 3min out of a 14lb bottle.

Kerry, i'm gettin individual bits as i've already got the bottle but a rough break down is:

£30 for the braided hosing
£80 for the solenoid
£50 for intercooler halo bar (optional, but gets an even co2 coverage to i/c)
£15 for connectors + brackets

+ bottle, which could cost anything upto £300 if u really wanted a big fancy polished thing. I'm using a 14lb ex-rocket car nitrous bottle that i got cheap. I am also installing it all myself, to again save money.

For me its gonna cost around £200 all in. Compare that to £295+vat for an uprated top mount i/c for mine, or £350+ for an FMIC (coz u need smaller fans, new pipework, inlet manifold adapter, re-work rad piping + modify bumper which would need repainting etc etc) its a bargain. I mean for runs up Santa Pod, its perfect, and is gonna keep charge temps lower than ANY FMIC or waterspray or anything.
