Hi all.
Right i have a 1997 corsa trip 1.2 3door. I recently got a pair of Pioneer TS-E175c speakers with tweeters but they wouldnt fit in the doors so had to put them in where the back doors go. The problem is that the speaker diameter woz fine but the speaker depth woz about an inch to deep and touch my window and couldnt screw the panel back on. I have used space's aswell but still the same. I no the easy option is to cut a hole out of the plastic so the speaker can stick out more, but i really dont want to be messing about with that at the moment.
So if anyone could advise me on what the best speakers with tweeters are that would fit in the front doors then that would be great want to pay around the £100 mark.
Thanx a bunch people

pop into halfords and get urself some autoleads speaker adaptors, will cost you around £15 but will let you put your speakers in without them touching the windows

hi mate
Nah dont think those speaker adapters will work because i have put the speaker wright up to the window touching it. then i tried screwing the plastic cover back on and it wouldnt go back on because the speakers depth is too deep so im gunna have to look for some good speakers have less depth. any ideas?
thanx

lol thanx for telling me about those speakers, will look out for them one day....but for the time being and stick to a lower price brand. Well at the moment i have http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_detail.jsp?product_id=525&taxonomy_id=25-131 in the back, so somthing that would be of simular quality and watt and stuff would be great. Are those alpines as good as my speakers?
yah see i dont wanna be spending huge amounts on speakers.i want to get my front door speakers sorted and then i can get my good mono amp and 12" subs.then once thats done i can work on other car parts. just want those front speakers to set me on and then maybe one day i will get those 260 speaker jobs
thanx for ya help people

i'm not sure either, kinda hoping you were gonna go for some
I'd go with the magnat ones, only because they're more powerful than the DLS ones.

NO NO NO Dave.... RMS powere handling doesnt make them louder at all....
The DLS will sound a LOT better than shite magnat stuff, and the magnats magnet is way too big to fit in the door.
The DLS mounting depth is63mm and as far as i can remember thats spot on for corsa with the autoleads 17cm adaptor ring.
Do NOT buy magnat pish.

Yeah im quite anti magnat and brands like that, when you can get far better speakers for the same money.
Also the magnats WONT fit in a corsawithout builds, they have big magnets on thier speakes....

fair do's. what's the minimum RMS you'd recommend looking out for?

There isnt a minimum, a speaker that was 10w RMS could be a very loud and good sounding speaker, its all about efficiency really...
Dont judge a speaker on its power rating, try and listen to one, thats the only way you can tell if u like the sound or not. More power handling can be a good thing if you have an amp that can power a speaker properly as it will allow greater control over the output of the speaker.
In my eyes, watever the power rating of the speaker you want 1.5 times that power in the amp for it, so 100w RMS components want a 150w RMS amp, or a 300w RMS subwoofer wants at least a 450w RMS amplifier.
