Hey everyone, just about to give my Corsa C an oil change but the bloody sump nut is on FAR too tight. Is there some trick to it?
Also, for the hell of it I threw my stock standard corsa C (1.4l) on the dyno. Here is the result at the front wheels with high octane premium fuel. (please forgive the photo, I don't have a decent digital camera at the moment, only the camera on my phone).

73 at the wheels? If not, your 1.4's performing like a 1.2

Yeh think the 1.4's are supposed to run at 90 standard.

Yes lads but dont 4get the 25% rule.
The 1.4's run 90bhp standard AT THE FLYWHEEL, the power at the wheels is alwasy 20-25% less because of friction while getting from the flywheel to the wheels.
90bhp - 25% is actually 67.5bhp at the wheels so the car is running a few more horsepower than standard :thumbs;
Its running about 100bhp at the flywheel which of course is 10bhp up from standard

yeah well spotted
this must b an aytomatic converter that works out from the horsepower measured by the RR at the wheels what the horsepower is at the flywheel
100.9bhp sounds right and proves what i said above

mine measured 68 at the wheels, roughly 98 at the fly on 95ron....
how's the car run ? i think these latest engines are 'lazy'....not a patch on the early 16valvers, it's starting to loosen a bit now at 28,000 plus k&n panel filter and modded airbox has helped.

Adam Kindness,
The run was done in 3rd as the dyno was calibrated for 3rd. I understand MOST runs are done in 4th... BUT, it was definitely set for a 3rd gear ratio as a friend with a stock 4G63 based car (105kw 2L 4cylinder from mitsubishi) recorded 94.9hp @ wheels in 3rd which is spot on for his car.
But yeah, the reason for the extra hp is the fuel without a doubt. I refuse to put anything less than 100 octane in the tank.
