VTEC is when a honda goes from pish torque to a normal cars torque. your accelerating so slowly that you feel fast once the normal cam comes into play

so in 10 minutes of playing - imagine you were doing an average of 120mph

you would have then driven 20 miles in that 10 minutes

20 miles for 10-15 quid of petrol - i dont think so

NISMO SMB - VTEC is fine if you want to be balls out all the time but you still require downchanges to move anywhere even in an S2000. VTEC is all about top end power using revs to make it.

as for a 2 seat solf top I'd not pic an S2000 as my first choice

yes accelerate hard and you'll stay in the VTEC zone - quick yes but the problem is below that you have a serious abount of revs wich provide lack luster amounts of torque

Vtec is good on bikes. Torque is quite good from 3000rpm to 6000rpm, then its off all the way to 13000rpm

VTEC is shit on bikes. Why do you think Honda only have it on one bike for sale in the UK? Even then the genereal concensus is that the previous non vtec version was better (VFR-800).

VTEC adds weight to the vavletrain and therefore if fitted on something like a Fireblade it would probably hurt overall performance rather than help it. When you have a piddly 1 litre engine reving over 12000rpm the last thing you need is added reciprocating mass.

Then there's the part about bikes bieng so light that the vtec change over would be more prominent than in a car, so much so that it could be annoying.

S2000's, ITR's, CTR's... they all rock

Lets see...

ITR widely acknowledged as best ever FWD car
CTR wins every hot hatch award going
S2000 ditto with roadster awards
