i hope to eventually have 17x7 alloys ET45 lowered 60-70m.....
i want it really low, just love the low look, and i dont usually have full car...
whats easier for me to do, ROLL the arches back or TRIM them???
ive done a search and triming comes up a lot but ive heard i will need to weld it after i cut it!!! i thought i could just use rust resistant paint on it and thats it???
rolling sounds easy! is it just a case of using pliers to roll them back and thats it???

nah cut them up to the bolt line with a hacksaw or air saw, then paint the bare metal, bond arches back on, job done no scrubbing ever

nah thats only on a nova, the arch was a structural part of the car with an inner and outer skin of metal, this needed welding back together, and also shit gets between the metal and rusts it. corsas only have a single skin

when i had 17x7's on my car et45 lowered 60mm all i had done was debolt the arches and i never got rubbing even with 5 people in the car so i reckon that if you just bend the metal out a tiny bit you wd be fine and wouldnt have to cut anything at all

cheers dude
think i will lower it and see how it goes from their
......apparently some corsa's you can get away with it but on some its unlucky....somthing about them all being slightly different from each other when they leave the factory in terms of the clearance or the offsett?
just hope i get lucky like u mate otherwise i dont really mind doing some arch mods

yeah dude its all about tolerances, like said some are lucky, corsas are built within certian parameters so there can be 3-4mm difference each side for clearance etc.
No need to sand it down just remove rough edges and paint with hammerite.
If ya do the same on the front you can safely run 7.5inch wide wheels too

dont cut to the bolt holes on the back, you will cut both of the inner and outer wings, thats where you will need to weld it up again. just remove the overhanging bit that catches the tyre.
i did a rear disk conversion and it moved my wheels in a mm or 2 that solved my rear problems!
you can butcher the fronts without much problem tho. just dont leave any bare metal.

you will probably find the wheels rub up in the inner archs anyway in which case you need to use longer bumpstops.

ok so the front i can chop up real good upto and the bolt holes......
the rear only just upto the bolt holes...
tap out arches a few mm then splash on some hammerite and bond plastic arches back on and sorted
will "no more-nails" do to bond arches on?
i hope to get FK HIGHSPORT COILOVERS, wont these help with the rubbing i may get on the inner arch if i lower too much???

i had rubbing at the rear over the big bumps on 16*7 195/45's with highsports.
stuck in some bigger bumperstops and the problem is sorted.
