Just thought i'd share my experience with the lovely ppl at vaux!

Went into vaux today looking for advice, losers told me i didn't need to use new hub-to-strut bolts/nuts and new top mounting bolts when changing suspension. Told them they where niyol (sp) so couldn't be reused, and he didn't believe me!

also bumpstops = £20 each! (i.e £40 per corner!) bloody funny,

d!ckheads lol!

lol trust me mate it wont fall off!

just check the condition of the threads and nuts.

by all means replace them but there are many instances where people say "fit new this" "fit new that" when most of the time its not neccessary.

guy on parts desk at wycombe branch can talk for england.

been in there quite a bit recently, just wanting to pop in get a part, then leave again. takes ages before you get a chance to leave with out being rude and telling him you don't care.

hehe, this guy just made stuff up, just took off what i was saying and spoke bullsh!t, nevermind tho.

now i dunno what to do, mr. haynes says change, but you guys say no need. My car done 125,000 so what ya guys reakon? how much do the bolts cost anyways?

i am right in thinking i need the following:

4 x Strut-to-hub bolts and nuts
2 x Top mounting nuts

and it's fine to use the same for the rears?

cheers

i don't think it's necesary to change bolts.
try autovaux if you really want to. tend to be cheaper than vauxhall, even on original GM parts

www.autovaux.co.uk i think

Do you want more travel from shortening them?

For the record my parts man and I talk about old school classic Corsas every time I go in

guess I'm just unlucky, i always get the staff who are brainless! think i must attract them!

i don't wanna bottem out over every bump in the road. I'm only dropping it 40mm with bilstein stocks and springs, would i need to shorten then?

I wouldn't shorten the bump stops at all, bumping out on these is preferable to arch contact. If anything you might want longer ones for that wheel/height combo.
