Got a Sony CDX-M630 and it realy doesnt like packard bell CD's it will keep giving me errors and spitting the CD out, but this is the weird bit, if I warm the CD slightly (car heater) then it will play
is it the player or just crap media.
on one CD where it skips now and then it will play about half a sec of a different track.

I find that burning at slower speeds gives better results on my head unit so its worth a try. If i burn at full speed then i get loads of pops and crackles.

i really havnt got the time to burn slower!! as my maximum burn speed is 12x write takes 20mins to do a 80min cd!!
pc is bit out dated!!
my Alpine headunit was top of the range 3years ago and it wasnt actually meant to play CD-R/W's... but it did but now it finds it hard to read the disks and just says error most the time, especially when its really hot, i guess burning them at slower speed could help out my head unit

It's possible that the laser's gone on the HU - if it wasn't meant to play CDR's, then it damages the laser to read them because the grooves on the cd are so much closer together or sumthin like that. It'll play them for a while, but after time it won't - same thing happened to my m8.
