the red wire has come out of the clip on the back of the alpine head unit,. tried putting it back in and it still woint work, nothing at all, checkd fuses on the radio, and the main fueses.

anyone any ideas?? or is the HU fucked??

totally gutted, worked solid the last 2days sorting this, then right at the last min when everything is about to be complete theis happens

the only thing i could possibly think of is that make sure nothing is blocking the fan on your HU if something is blocking it your HU could be getting over heated. Ive got a sub and amp set up in my car and its fine. Cant think whatelse it could be

the wire just came off the conecter plug and it aint come on since, was gonna try the Hu on my mates to see if it was just my wires thats fucked or if its the Hu but his conector plug is different.

so it will either cost a few quid for the new wires and plug, or 180 for a new HU

and its all money i cant afford to be paying out

the plug has the iso lead on one end then has another plug which goes into the headunit, and the red wire which is the power wire came out, i cut another wire, orange one for illumination, and plugged that in, but still nowt.

either its the new wire from alpine, or new headunit

Does ur interior light work mate??

Its a 20amp fuse that should have gone, or a 10a if it was the ignition live.

Only thing i can suggest is that you take a wire from the yellow live to where the red live should go to see if the unit comes on. If it does it means the red live is dead and a fuse has defo gone.

how do you mean richie with the yellow live?

there is already a yellow wire in there.

the interior light still works, and we looked at the fuse box, and the fueses with the headunit.

if you tee off the yellow live to make another wire which is shared from the yellow live, and make a connection to where the red live goes to your headunit, and see if it comes on.

So there are only two possible problems mate.

1. Headunit has blown. If it works then:

2. Wiring problem in the car, meaning a fuse or melted wire.

Whats the model number of ur alpine HU? Is it a 4x 60w Jobbo?
