X16XE.

rebuild, rebore, skimmed head (just cos the head had been off), inlet manifold change, full zorst with de-cat.

Thinking about geting it chipped, Unichip prob but i dont want my engine letting go with more power.

Should prob replace the conrod bolts too..

Right if ya get ARP con rod bolts fitted and Metal Idler Sleeves from SBD you wont need to worry about over revving the car this set up will be 100% safe up to 7800RPM, balancing the crank etc will benifit you as Mark said, i have had this done to me engine its worth it. While the bottom end is being looked at think about some copper/lead main and big end bearings as an upgrade, all this will leave you with a very reliable engine that is safe to rev hard

It wont be 100% safe that far. The more often you take it that far the more chance of failure you are, and more wear will occur.

I'd only get the crank balanced if the bottom end was already apart. Its definatly not worth an engine rebuild just to get it done.

I was told that 9 times out of 10 they are perfectly balanced anyway.

I dont think cranks are generally lightened, mine wasn't, you really dont want to me making it weaker! Lightening the flywheel is a much better place to save weight!
