Ok, just bought my first corsa gsi. They are fairly rare here in the republic of ireland so i am loking for a bit of advice.
Going to give it a full service.
What do u reckon is the best oil to use, spark plugs and air filter (its still got the standard air filter atm)
Looking for to replace the tyres, what would ur reckon are a good all round tire, still got the original alloys.
I know these are faily noobish question, but then again i am a noob.

For the oil and spark plugs, theres nothing wrong with the standard Vaux stuff, so just use that.
Air filters are down to prefference. they all pretty much do the same thing, with only enclosed filters (Pipercross Viper/ ITG carbon enclosure etc) making a significant difference.
As for tyres, if your changing all four, it may actually be a good time to upgrade to bigger wheels. Maybe look at lightweight stuff to help keep the speed, but you still gain the benifits of Low profile tyres and wider rubber .

as rob said use genuine GM plugs they are just rebadged NGKitems for cheaper, as for oil use 10w40 semi synthetic vaux oil
as for air filter i reckon a decent pannel filter say a K&N is the best bet and wont ruin drivability with the dreded flat spot you get with induction kits

there number is 046 95 41622 there down in Enfield. and this the there web address --> http://www.superflow.com/TestCenters/westward.html
Nah i dont have a GSI but strongly thinkin of turning my car into one... well the engine anyways.... but not sure if it will be fast engough for me.
and nah yer man wasent lying to ya there is only a handfull of them in the country. The GSI and any of the Sport models were never marketed in the republic so if ya have one it have it more than likely a Vauxhaul imported from the UK or if its an opel it been inposted from the continent.
My advise to you is to get some Ram induction on it... either a mantzel or a velos and get it unichiped.....then look at upgrading the internals. then bring it to Westward and get it mapped properly.

She is a 94 D first reg'd in 1994.
As for speed, there quick enough, particularly with our crap roads.
Kind of running on a budget atm, had my 1l robbed, and when my m8 was sellin this at the same time, i bought it. needs some work, buts a fair auld animal, plus the insurance is next to nothin considering a 1l corsa cost me €2k to insure and they wont insure me on a vaux gsi without a full licence (was going to import). but the opel gsi was only €2600 despite the fairly big jump in power and basicly the exact same as the vaux. so few of em they aint as big an risk, or so they think

the tags where removed for the same reason as the induction kit, the local law enforcement like to pull the previous owner over for fun

Well there is a tapping noise in the engine, the mechanice m8 said it wasnt a mojor prob but game me the phone number of a tuning crown near by.
whenever i fill the tank i get a petrol smell, but i have been told here that thats prob a damaged seal, so i am going to get opel to look at that when i bring it down to get another small prb checked out, the engine managment light comes on way to early high in the rev's, say 60mph in 3rd kind of thing, but goes out as soon as i turn off the engine, i think its ment to stay on if the is a realy prob? not sure.
