Alrite ppl. For anyone that lives in the teeside area there's a speed camera van sat in the school entrance on the road near the Mitre pub heading towards tesco (Bishopton road west?) It's a 30 btw...
Few Questions:
At 8.50pm the flash would need to go off right?
Can it get cars heading towards it? (The actual van n camera were on the opposite side of the road to me)
How many weeks does it take till i find out if i've bin caught?
...And I always thought they only came out 9-5

the flash wud need to go off if it was dark etc yes
gatso's and tremelo's cant get u speeding if ur goin toward em cos the flash wud blind u
only police laser ones
if u dont get a letter within 14 days of intended prosecution they cant legally do u for it
hope that helps

Thanken-u There was a big black box infront of his damn van (so ppl comin from behind it couldn't see it ) There was a big flash on it (Like a rally spotlight) and touch wood both me n my passenger said we didn't see it go off. I suppose all i can do now is wait, why is it for the 1st time wen a speed camera has bin out not 1 car was coming towards me to flash me ??? Sod's law eh.

When i realised, i looked down and the needle was about 1 notch above the 30 reading on the dials but we all know corsa dials arn't very accurate at best Oh well, mabye i'll learn for nxt time

most dials over-read and the police have a slight leaniency.
gatso's certainly only catch you from the rear.
if the were using radar there wouldn't have been a flash and a cop car would have pulled you.

Truvelo Speed Cameras
The forward facing Truvelo camera system is designed to take photographs of the front of a passing vehicle. This allows the picture taken to show the driver of the vehicle as well. In countries such as Switzerland, Germany and the Scandinavian countries driver recognition is a required factor to enable a successful prosecution of a speed or red light offence.
A single front photograph, taken just after the vehicle has crossed the piezo sensors used for speed measurement, includes all the secondary check information required.
To avoid the 'flash' which is given out by a rear facing Gatso camera the Truvelo system uses an infra red flash which produces no visible 'flash' to the approaching driver.
