As some of u know iv been having lambo doors fitted for the last few weeks.
All has gone ok and hinges are on everythings working and painted
HOWEVER
My gas struts that held the door up were too strong - we couldnt get them to compress to close the door!
so to cut a long story short i need some struts!
Original plan was to have it ready for trax - but thats out the window -
Any one got any idea where i can get some struts for lambo doors from??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should have sent them back to the manufacturer - seeing as by law they have to replace them with something more suitable.

PMSL nooooooooo chance then
would be easier to take the struts off and buy a midget to carry around with you and pay him 5 shiney pennies everytime he has to climb out the boot and hold the door open for you
if they are to strong, move the mounting points outwards so there is more force on them, sort of like using a longer bar to undo tight bolts

Found a company in derby that specialise in gas struts - said they'd take a look. - but said it wouldnt be too much to have new struts - and i cant see illusion getting me new struts....

They don't have to give him a refund... They just have to be given the chance to replace the faulty parts. There is clearly no problem with the hinges, just they were supplied with the wrong gas struts - no way could you sue them for that...
Could you not use a gas strut off of a tailgate?

Tailgate wouldn't be strong enough surely.
I'm fairly sure you are OK returning them, the goods are not fit for the purpose but you will have problems if you've butchered them about a bit welding etc.
Maybe Scott wants to personally take this on and restore our faith in the place.

How long do you think the driver's door strut will last for considering it's opened at least twice every time you use the car.
Tailgate and bonnet struts give up after a while and they're not used THAT often.

Easy enough to replace - my tailgate lifters are fine, they have been on the car since '94...
