I'm about to buy an ex GSi engined Corsa, it now has an Astra GTE 16v installed.
The only real annoying thing about it is the revcounter is all over the place.....i'm told its something to do with a sensor that is either sending a digital/analogue signal............basically it's sending the wrong one i believe........
Does anyone have any answers for me please as to how i can solve it.....thanks!...

I had this problem but mine was wired off the coil, I just smoothed it with a capacitor in parallel with the guage.
Don't know if yours in the same problem.

Right, all this pointers are coming in handy......
Ian, could you just list for us in order of what to do first......I don't want to get a set of clocks that will cost a bomb from Vauxhall if it's just a shitty connection.......
Thanks mate....

Don't ever buy them from Vauxhall, eBay and scrappies are never short of them.
I forget the rating on the capacitor, my dad chose it for me out of his stock of them, just soldered it on to the circuit board on the back of the unit.
He's in the Algarve at the moment otherwise I'd phone him and find out

Well I need some new clocks as they only go upto 140, hoping to find some that go upto 160, if a new set of clocks doesn't seem to cure the problem then I'll have to try a few other ideas!

You won't get Corsa clocks that go to 160 - you'll need ones off of a different car - pain in the arse!
