My mate wants rid of his T plate (2000?) M3 Evo
But cant think of a better car to take its place! (apart from an E46 maybe?)
His limits about 20grand (- Which is not going to get him an E46!)
Gotta be reliable, has to be as quick, but preferably quicker than the Evo!
Cant be too old either...! (fussy fcuker i know!)
Jap Turbo's seem the only way to go at the moment really, but I dont think his traders insurance will cover imports untill he is 25 (Hes 20 at the moment!!)
So people, he needs ideas....

Evo TME, get a nice UK 2001 for that money. Few simple mods (zorst/filter/decat) and it rapes an M3. The TME is a future classic, check the 2nd hand prices to see there way above that of a normal VI

Loads of M3's about too, how many TME's do you see everyday? Prices are more than holding so yes it's a few k extra initial outlay than a GSR but the value should hold it's price where the GSR won't so much. Robbo you still getting one and doing as your told?

First three replies are v helpfull
thanks!
Is an Evo or a skyline the only options out there.... he doesnt want a scoob- just as common as the M3.... Evo TME is under consideration already... and cant find any R34 liners for the 20k mark (doesnt want a R33)
Hmmmm, this is alot more difficult than I thought... not many standard cars beat the M3's in gear times for the money he has to spend!

Rx8 is pony, a mad tuned up 7 is being considered.... reliability is an issue though
He is bored of his M3 mate, the Vanos unit rattles like fcuk, and they will only depreciate more when the new 3 series appears next year. At the moment a mint convertable E36 M3 Evo will still fetch a fair few quid... and its time for a change!
Just wish i could afford to insure some of the cars this dudes had
