how do i tell if its 16v or 8v? it has a ecotech engine if that make any difference... havent picked up the car yet so can't check anything

You look to see if its a SOHC engine or a DOHC engine, if you can't tell the difference then there is no hope.

i can tell the visual differnce between the sohc and dohc, one looks crap the other doesn't. So im guessin dohc=16v and sohc=8v?
Dont know much about cars, only know what i've learn't trying to fix parts that have exploded or dropped off

How the hell can you not tell the difference between 8v and 16v
If that the case get out of your car and walk, and let someone else have it.
8v has single cam.
12v has double cam.
16v has double cam.
My V6 has quad cam.
Nothing wrong with the 8v had one in me nova long time ago.
