since i put in a high quality power cable to the headunit i have found the fuse in the engine bay for the amp that powers the sub blows if i pump it too loud, it was fine before?

the amp gain is only on 2/3, and im "sure" the amp and sub are a good match!
not too sure about the sub, its a 12ich, the amp is a Alpine V12 400watt's at mono

any ideas???

how many fuses are on the side of your V12 amp and whats the total rating of those fuses?

Is the fuse in your engine bay big enough to handle that current?

You checked the cable for shorts? Try a 30a in the engine bay and if it still blows then there is defo a problem.

"coil melting"
does this mean its damaged for good???
it was working fine for couple of weeks!... then i uprated the power cable to the headunit and noticed that the sound quality got much better so i increased the gain "slightly" on the amp as it didnt distort as much now and then the sub problems started to happen, do you think it had anything to do with the new power cable for the headunit or the gain increasing???

i cant rememebr the brand! its a unknown brand as ive never heard of it before, its really really old! it had 250watts max power written all over it
