Is there any other way to open a smoothed boot without a solenoid kit on a corsa b?
Ive toyed with the idea of a cable but the lock mechanism is on the boot lid which makes it virtually impossible.
any ideas?

Get a piece of string and loop it around the lever that activates the locking mechanism and feed it through the small gap between the lock and the tailgate (where the latch is fitted)... This is a temprorary mesure I have used and it works fine for me, though my car doesn't go anywhere so security is not a problem, but if you need to actually use the car then think twice before doing this or hide the string in the boot rubbers some how. Or just get a solinoid - they cost about £15...

You can fit a cable pull. Look at some of the rally specialist places - demon tweeks, Harry hockley, TAS or Rally Design to name a few. Bit of a custom DIY fit will be needed but it will work the same as your bonnet cable pull...
Pretty cheap too.

I dont have a solenoid on my smoth tailgate,
just wired the rear wiper cable up to the central locking for the boot lock, so when i flick my wiper, my lock opens the boot!
