apologies for the crap pictures.
something has been rattling around inside my engine and is now embedded into the cylinder head. Also the place that skimmed it for me a few weeks ago took way too much off and the valves have been slapping the pistons. I was led to beleive it was just the tappets making the noise 
i need a new engine

yeh looks like it could have been a collet,
get onto the head skimming place and tell them to sort it, then buy a bottom end and get bored out to 2.1 with some more goodies!
just like fad did when his oil pump fucked up!

shocking.
if you can be sure that it was their' negligence and not a mistake on your half then call em up requesting re-imbursement for a new head aand new pistons plus labour.
probably in your interests though to give them the oppurtunity to rectify it first than to dive straight in with legal proceedings.
