Will an alternator off of a 1.2 8v Corsa engine fit on to a 20XE? Or do I have to add one of them to my very long shopping list

THE 20XE one doesn't work though Tis buggered, don't you remember how the battery was always flat on that car, and how the low voltage light must have been on all the time?
