However, you can ram a 2L in as std, and the handling is virtually the same

But futher scope is limited.

findamentally theyre a god design (words of an ex rallycar mechanic) its just theyre built shit and now mine is falling to pieces and gonna set me back loads to refurb and replace

Nova still has best sus when modified. that's why it was the winning car in rallying so many years ago. so there

fully independant double wishbone sus. But that's grp B AWD car, hence can't really use a torsion beam set up.

Why don't you look at Harry Hockley, massive Grp A champion.

james, have u driven a torsion bar setup?

comparing the 205 to the corsa and my old fiesta, all unmodified, theres really no competition as to the handling abilities

I didn't say factory set up. Yeah I've been out in a Mi16 205 in my area, very impressive, but the back end was too twitchy imo, as you can't change the springs, only damping rate I wasn't a fan.
