Any body use these instead of vinyl. I have lots of cds and fancy havin a go with these. But how do you use them compared to vinyl.
Are the ones with the jog wheel better as i take it you can use the wheel the same way you would spin vinyl?
Any help and tips and recommendations would be appreciated

Its bloody hard, the idea is its supposed to eb the same as vinyl but it aint! takes alot of practise and luck!

Takes a bit of getting used to but once mastered you can do pretty much all the same as Vinyl,
I use these and are very good , can mix 2 tracks from the same CD at once

I have the Pioneer CDJ1000 and there pretty good. I had a go of the top of the range brand spankers and there are unbelievable. I rekon with a bit of practice you could mix as well as with a turn table!! Cant remember the model number tho

Yeah , best thing to do is get hold of some bass line CD's and practice mixxing them in , then onc youve mastered that move on to harder bass lines and bring in songs with constant BPM's then.
Get a book on how to CDJ mix

you will never beat Viynl but you will notice most club Djs all have moved over to CDs now including most radio stations.

the dns-5000 is shit hot. I find it easier to mix with this rather than vinyl as you can cue up the start.

Exactly , CD mixing is harder aswell , so its not cheating its just using a differet format , also most DJ's use it aswell as using Laptops , move with the times corsa boyo,

Hardware, Software, CD or Vinyl makes no difference at all, a good dj has good rhythm and knows how to play with music, everyone has their preferred media, but if you any good it wouldnt matter, i have played in clubs with shitty belt drive decks, and clubs with CD, Vinyl, Computer and live audio symultaneously and it always sounds good.

Yes and you get caught and you will get all your equiptment taken away if you are a registered DJ.
Same as a Dj cannot legally use CD-R's you have to have brought all the original copys.

tbh, EVERY DJ has to pay royalties when playing to a live growd and i can bet your life everyone here doesnt do it  (only exception is white labels and you hardly get white label stuff on cds)
so tbh, if your breaking thw law already then CD-Rs and Mp3s are fine...plus if you have the CDs are home, then you are legally entitled to use them as Mp3s, as long as you pay royalties etc
However, cd mixing is easier to me - considering you have beat matchers that come with the decks and cue'ing, looping etc etc Therefore i believe that vinyl is the only way. However, unless your Mr Ibiza/Radio1 DJ that has to have an image to go with it, then im all with pcs and cds
Although real skill is when you using a mixture of samples from a pc hardware system, mixing from a cd and doing some scratching over the top with vinyl

yea, a friend of mine subscribes to this, its pretty good....but you still have to pay royalties for the rest of your music, so unless you play unheard of white label music (very unlikely) then you could get heavily fined + get your equipment taken away, and depending on situation - a jail period 
hence, why if your going to that trouble, i would rather use mp3s and save cash (that would be sepnt on vinyl/cds) on other things that arnt connected, so if i get fooked, then i wouldnt have wasted excess cash etc.
but then again, is very minute that you will get fooked over and they have made it a right arse to sort out for royalties - as you have to write down ever track you own which you have access to in your events - can you imagine how long it would take to write down a good few thousand songs
