the c16xe has a black plastic inlet manifold and the x16xe has a silver, aliminium one.
the x16xe has ecotech on the plastic cover but the c16xe says something else. vauxhall. i think (cant remember)
im sure there are other different parts too but just looking at the inlet manifold is esiest as long as it is the standard one.

The X16XE engine was also in the GSI from August 1994 onwards the GSI had the C16XE engine before this, if ya going the route of throttle bodies then it dont matter what engine you get, if your just gonna tune it mildly then get the C16XE
