If i was to have the arial smoothed off, is there any other way i could get a signal for the radio? I thought mabye a wire arial stuck to the roof somehow?

Get an internal ariel that sticks to your windscreen from Maplin, they work very well. They cost about £5 and you'll need an ariel extension cable too

cheers mate, still not sure what the reception would be like tho, can you not wire the roof as an arial?
