i have been around Snetterton race track in a fully race prepped one of these and it was bloody quick it was afew years ago though. we were racing Paul Radasich in his Mondeo touring car (he was leading the touring car championship at the time) we did lose but fun non the less. i met Jeremy clarkson that day too

that race spec one did seem fast but the chav who tried racing me in his didn't seem too fast infact he looked pretty fuckin gutted losing to a corsa

They're not that fast, you'd do well to get 6.3 on the 0-60. Can't stick with the 328 in a straight line and the MR2 makes a mockery of them. That and they fall apart, look dated and corner like a boat. Hence the resale values of them.
In a word - shite.

very fast and a very good engine to mod. Look at TOTB results over the years and you'll see that the coupes and anything with the T series engine in dicks on everything.

The coupe doesnt handle very well but the hatch versions (Gsi T and GTi T) do handle well. Only have to worry about the pistons if you put the boost over 15psi.
