Yet another problem to the list
the steering has been feeling 'wierd' to me lately. hard to describe but at low speed i have to turn the wheel nearly 1 full revolution to get around a small bend in the road. yesterday its got really bad the steering feels like i have power steering (i dont) at 50 or 60 i dont feel very contected to the front wheels.... if ya turn the wheel half a revolution the car is still going straight....
i when arounf every single bolt in the front suspension and evrything is tight and looks ok
gonna book it into vauxhaul today cos it feels a bit dangerous to me...
why wont it just work

sounds like a problem with your actual steering rack/wheel rather than the suspension/wheels mate

took the car to vauxhaul yesterday.... what a waist of 30 quid.....
i was told that... " the wheels are way to big for the car and that there a contributing factor" there only 16's ffs....... they wouldnt know were to start with the coilovers... they wanted to install the original suspension
and this one... "the car is not designed to have an engine of that size/power"..... its a c16xe ffs granted it has a few extra pieces but i dunno... basically they done everything i did then said they would have to start fresh with the original parts.... yeh right G T F.....
so still have the problem.... ball joints are new... trackrod ends are new.... i ordered some new top mounts so i'll put them in on saturday...
jesus the dark evenings are a pain in the arse.... if this was summer were i had some daylight i would have the problem solved by now.....
seems to be when i let someone else work on the car it goes tits up.

could this problem be caused by worn/fooked wheel barings?
and are gsi barings and hubs diiferent than 1.2 8v merit ones?

i've got the same problem as that, i'm going to get the mechanic to check it when it goes for its mot. the other thing that made mine seem a little more unstable was when i jacked up the front end and the wheels came back down straight as aposed to the / \ which they were like (not quite as sharp as that but the bottom edge was out a little more than the top edge)
