Or is it just me?

Its been a while since I drove my GT but that is something I miss badly about it, being able to floor it in 4th at any speed and it shoot off.

The Nova does'nt move in 4th unless at high revs.

I seriously need to hurry up and get modding this engine, else we are gonna have a falling out.

Yes, this is obvious.

The Nova is only good for racing people in a straight line, mid range is a no no.

I need to go to the pod.

Yes the nova wont have as much torque "feel" as a GT, but i do remember myine pulling very nicely in 3rd and 4th from quite low down, like 2500 onwards. Maybe it has a problem? Have you been spanking its bum?

mid range is where the 16XE excelled in my opinion, especially in 3rd from 40-85mph.

No, no problem anymore apart from missing a secondary air pump.

if it feels anything like the x14xe, and i believe they are very similar engines, then yes i reckon.

take ages to wind it up to high rev's and never really has any surge of power

I am gonna stop driving it until next year now.

Let it stand, I'll get the roof lining done, get the steering wheel fitted and then just let it stand for winter.

Then after Xmas take it somewhere to get the Mantzel & Unichip fitted.

i thought my c16xe was great for the first week but i've got used to it now... you have to trash the rev to get torque out of it... and i have a manztel...

still on standard managment though...

I once raced a Astra GTE 16v, not much in it but like you say the GTE did beat me.

Intrested to see what would have happened had the race been from 40-100.

I feel the GT would have edged it.
