im just gonna upgrade the battery to a diesel battery. Don't think the alternator is as important.

more important than both of those is the BIG 3 wires....

but my big amp recomends a 250A alternator and 3 batterys for SPL! getting a big stinger batt after xmas but need a bigger alternator, might have to pop to vaux and see if they know anything bout alternators!

i don't think there's any point on upgrading the alternator until you've done the battery mate. I might be way off base but your current battery can only charge up so quickly and to a certain degree, a new alternator won't serve any purpose other than to charge it up faster, ie when you're moving when you don't really need it.
You need a bigger battery which will hold a bigger charge in the first place, I'm looking at getting a yellow-top soon if i have any probs with power from my future setup.

to be honest mate, you need to do all 3...not just upgrade the wires and battery - as whats the point in getting a bigger battery, if you cant charge it up quickly 
Best bet, see if one out of a 1.8 fits it - i believe its around 120Ah (i think?), which is alright. Anymore than that mate, then you either get one re-wound or buy a special jobby like a 250Ah+ type thing...but your looking at a good few 000's for one

scappy mate otherwise you will pay an arm and a leg for it and if your going to those prices then you might as well get one made up rated at 300Ah etc etc

i went to 2 scrappies last weekend and all the corsas there were comforts and sxi's. Not yet seen an Sri or anything with any decent parts worth having off it
