Looking for a complete new system for my 20XE'd Corsa but have several options but not sure...
Complete custom from Ascar Manifold back @£350 (are Ascar any good?)
or
Magnex Corsa 2" bore system with a small flexi-pipe between the manifold and Magnex system - who makes GOOD stainless flex-pipes, and do flex-pipes create rasp?
Im looking for a performance yet good-looking and relatively quiet system - I just HATE rasp from exhausts!!
What have you valver corsa owners done?

Really? What would you think then for std XE power with filter? 2.25? 2.5" is TOO big IMO and Ascars...
Anyone got an Ascar (Sheffield) Exhaust?

No need to go to Ascar..
BFO Exhaust from Blue Flame will do the job nicely.

Who sells and how much, BFO - eek as in PVD?
What size bore is it and is it a single or double silencer system as im looking for double like the Magnex. Anyone any experiences with Scorpion's Grp A - is it really 2.5" bore?

Blue Flame.
2.25" and it's a double silencer.
Broster had a Scorpion 2.5" and it was shit. Fitted shit, expensive, performed shit (on his 1.6) and was generally shit.

the scorpion was the most expencive shittest exhaust i ever looked at in my life, apart from many others i have looked at, the bfo out performs it in everyway!

Blue flame sounds good then, i'll give em a ring tomorrow and see what they have to say... Does it just bolt upto the 2.0 16V maifold because there are variations in the manifolds i.e Astra 3, Cav is different, or is it a Corsa cat-back system that needs connecting in some way to the manifold?

Ahh I see, do get much of a choice of tail pipes? Why was the Scorpion so bad? Scorpion factory is down the road from me so IF I did get one and had probs I be round banging on there doors LOL. Just out of interest the Scorpion GrpA - is that a 2 silencer system?

2" is the std size for an XE.
2.25" is recommend for around 180BHP
2.5" recommned for up to 210-230BHP
It really depends if you are intending to stick TB's and cams on your engine, otherwise you just have a compramise.

Yup, im deffo sliding to 2.25", just trying to shift the power/torque band to a little higher up the revs. With my weedy std Corsa 1.2 system on ATM with XE power im finding the top ends a little flat, peaks around 4.5K RPM at a guess, cant really make use of the 7k rev limit... ATM im intending to keep it std but next summer could well be putting some Carbs on it and a few other bits, maybe take it to around 185BHP so 2.25" would be ideal...
Whats the RRP inc delivery on a Blue Flame system then?
Tie between custom Ascar system or Blue flame ATM... Magnex, although quality and sound will suite me perfect I think it will lack any performance and the Scorpion GrpA sounds like its best off on a LET Corsa, not an XE.

mines cut and shut onto a std 1400 16v system. revs right up in every gear no problems at all. if anything between 3-4 is a little flat spot. gonna have to go get one made though. will miss the std sounding car and olt rusty tail pipe though. throws everyone off the scent a bit

so does an XE with just a filter work best with either the 2.25" or the 2.5"??

.25 of an inch isn't going to make much difference with such a wide range of mods available.
With a standard setup and around 170bhp, you should get the best results with a 2.25" system (obviously the silencers can affect performance too).
Once you go past that and start touching 200bhp, you might as well consider increasing the bore of the system too, along with the manifold, etc.

If your'e going for 200 then a better manifold is needed anywho, the std item is good for around 190 before it's restrictive. then 2.5" is good.
I'd say for most engines 2.25" is good.
