as above if i had one of these on my alarm could someone still nick me car? , or they break in and the alarm goes off, does that cancel the engine out (it stops) and if they did nick me car do i still get paid out by the insurance?

Your car would have all the normal alarm and immobilisation features of the alarm aswell as the remote start. Alarms with this generally aren't Thatcham rated and yes, the engine is cut if the alarm goes off.

If it's a Clifford, the engine also cuts out if the clutch or accelerator (or is it brake or accelerator) are pressed without the key being put in and turned to power-notch.

And mine is Thatcham Cat-1.

i have the clifford 600 with remote start.
When you press the star button the engine will start, but the car will still be locked. when you get in the car, you insert the key, turn it, press the brake pedal once and you can then drive away.

My car is Thatcham Cat 1

its good for the winter, leave the heaters on full blast, start the car as im getting out of bed, leave the flat to get into a nice warm de iced car

not sure about adding it to the TOADs :-s
