Anyone else seen one of these on the road over here?

Overtook one on motorway today, coming upto it I thought it was a weird looking Astra, wasn't until I got along side that I sussed out what it was. Unfortunately I didn't have phone on me so no pics. Was GB registered though, T reg to be precise. How did he go about getting one of those? I know they were released in South Africa and other places. Had Opel badges too.

Hoping its local so I can get a pic of it.

Thats cropped a few times. 8v engine though, not 3cylinder 12v we have.
