is this actual in-game graphics or just what its capable of? coz they did stuff like that for the ps2 n the graphics just went a bit on the gameplay

These are not 'Screen shots' from the PS3 - they are a concept artists interpretation of what the PS3 SHOULD be capable of when it is actually made and released....

I thought the same chris... the football one just looks like a pre-rendered animation. however, the poly count may be do-able on ps3.

yea, but theres a difference between rendering a single frame, and producing realtime animation from wireframes....those images posted are artist impressions/pre-rendered. I have yet to see any console, pc produce graphics like that in game play - part from the pre-rendered video clips etc etc
