My corsa has just had new brake pads put on front and back, done before i bought the car but i can see they are new, however the pedal is quite near the floor, does it need bleeding or summat? The brake fluid reservoir is full to the brim?

cost for cylinders £15 each and £20 for a set of shoe.
doubt it will be that if it has new breaks.
corsas dont exactly have solid brakes anyway, may be worth bleeding them anyway.

Try bleeding them and if they pedal still feels a bit loose check the hoses to make sure they are in decent condition. I thought if there was air in the pipes the brake pedal would feel spongy?

If its a spongy peddel its air in the system but if the peddle is jus low n you got a lot of clicks on your handbrake adjust it up in the drums that will bring the peddle up

You have to adjust the adjuster fork inside the drums. If they done the rear shoes did they adjust the handbrake cable too?
When i had my rears done i had to fit a new handbrake cable and a new rear wheel cylinder because there was wayy too much travel in the pedal.

The handbrake is really tight, only pulls up an inch, the front pads are definitely new, i can see how thick they are, pedal not really spongey just far down, as for pipes, just been mot'd so wouldn't they have checked out the pipes?

well could need bleading then jus open your bleed nipples front n rear 1 by 1 and let it gravety bleed out and watch for air (dont let the master cylinder go empty tho) Jim
ps if this dosent work get a mate to help hold the peddle down n open the nipple 2 pressure bleed it but gravety usually works jus take your time
