I have both the PS2 and Xbox..
Xbox
Plus side : Excellent games, Ability to play your own songs while playing a game, excellent graphics, pretty fast, built in harddrive (no need for memory cards)
Down side : Cost of Xbox live, Some Xbox Live games only allow you to post scores on the net dont actually let you play on it, Controllers are chunky and awkward to use, Peripherals are expensive, you need to buy a Remote before you can play DVDs,
OH and all profit from the Xbox lines Bill gates pockets....
PS2
Plus Side: £29.99 for unlimited access to net (no yearly subscription like Xbox live), Games are excellent (majority are share between all consoles), Contollers are small and easy to use (ideal for kids) Dvd player plays with no extras needed, Pretty fast, Excellent graphics, Memory card free with console (no need to buy one), wider variety of games and Platinum (£19.99) range hits stores quicker than Xbox Classics!, able to play PS1 games you already own, Smaller and easier to store,
Down side: slightly slower loading than Xbox, Halo 1&2 is not available on it (only reason i wanted the Xbox was halo), need a Multitap for four players,
The PS2 fopr me is a far better option for gaming pleasure, Who wants the hassle of buying Xbox live and paying £39.99 (or£59.99 with Halo 2) gettin a years subscription then having to renew it each year at £15 a year... Ps2 cost £29.99 to get online with no further cost.. Xbox needs a remote to play DVDs the PS2 plays them straight out the box, The PS2 has far better Driving games such as Gran turismo series, The PS2 also has far better Platform games old and new such as Crash bandicoot warped,
IMHO i love Both consoles but if i had to sell one i'd wave good buy to the Xbox..
Get the PS2 Mav they can be chipped aswell just visit your trusty old Barras market

How much is the game cube going for Icy.... Quite fancy one to add to my collection was gettin one for my 21st but i split with a certain someone!!

umm,,,chiped xboxs wiv dvd players added on em dont need remotes,,games are already catching up on the ps2 which is bloody good considering ps2 been out for so long,, games are 4 quid compared to ps2 retail,,xbox has basically all the ps2 games apart from tourismo and san andreas,,comes with 10 gig of memory so dont need a memory card ever,,once chiped up i sbasically an unstopable machine verses ps2 obvious major limits
however the ps2 can be chiped but youl be doing exceptionally (sp) well if the lazer doesnt burn itsself out within 1 year
only thing i ever preferd on my ps2 was its hand controller but after a week of playing xbox i found i got rather used to it,,,and after playing mortal kombat and many other fighting games i dont get hand cramp and sore thumbs on the xbox controller so i guess that must be a good thing lol

to make it same spec as mine,,,fink you can get xboxs for bout 70-80 quid from any game shop around,,,if you fancy modding your xbox your self i can give you an address of a place that sells chips from 12quid to 40 quid depending on model of chip you want
