tried to buy one today at shops.
No luck  except the bundle in game which is £175...didn't want all the crap that comes with it...and won't split.............

get an xbox chipped for £120, most ps2's fall apart within a year anyway. Xbox is a better console and more realiable.

how can u say this?
the new ps2 aint been out for a year, so obviously you mean the older ones
and if so, ive had my ps2 since when they 1st came out, gets left on all of the time, and still working as good as ever
oh, and im not a ps2 geek as i also have a xbox, just what u are saying is complete shite

You are replying to me on your experience, fair enough. But on the whole ps2's are much much more unrealiable than xboxes.
I had a ps2 for 10months and all of a sudden it decided to scratch all my cd's (common problem)
Luckily it was in the 1 year warrenty, and sony sent me a refurbished ps2 and replaced all my games and i have had no trouble with the ps2 that i was sent 2 years ago to date..
Now my girlfriends brothers ps2 is doing this 13 months old and it makes a hell of a noise, need to take it apart and sort it out.
Anyway i am not sure about the new slimline ps2's but what i am saying about the old ps2 is not complete shite

I've also had my ps2 since they first came out and it works everytime. My mates x-box packed up a month after the warranty ran out. Not saying all x-box's are like this and all ps2's are faultless as that would be an unfounded assumption, like the one you just made.

My reply is not an unfouned assumption, im telling you now i have read more problems with ps2s than xboxes on forums.

I bought my ps2 when they first came out and ive never had a problem with it.
I also have an x box, never had a problem with that either.
I think youve just been unfortunate with your ps2.

Maybe because more people have ps2's and they have been out longer. That's like saying Corsa C's are more reliable than B's because you don't read about them as much in Help and Mod

well theres 4 out of 4 so far that have lasted at least 3 years with no probs 
im sure people will post with problems they have had with the ps2
u say its from what u read on forums but, i have never posted in help on here saying my car is running fine  u only post if u have a problem

I had a ps2....Just I sold it on ebay about 6 months ago.....
Got it when it 1st came out and didn't have any problems in all the time i owned it at all..............was reliable in my eyes............
Just fancy another one now.......
Love the Fifa series so thats really the main game I want....not interested in xbox really............

whats the best PS2 deal you guys have seen about, best one i have seen so far is argos with second controller and Simpsons hit and run/Crash bandicoot for 120 quid but they are out of stock.

i'm on my 4th ps2 - local games shop has about 40 of them stacked up behind the counter, all with the same fault - DISK READ ERROR! can't speak for the xbox - i sold mine, as i couldn't live with the controller (size of a house, and about as ergonomc as sandpaper underpants). so although it has many faults i still prefer ps2, and i'll probably buy another when this breaks (soon, no doubt).
