Thinking of getting a new phone tomorrow, if i can get outta bed in time. Looking at the D500 coz it looks stunning.
Is it good ? Know someone on here had one before they were officially released or something...
Anything else i should consider, dont really want Nokia...

d500 looks cool & has got good features, but its awful to use
as nemo said 6630 is a monster of a phone & so is the k700(or the s700 if you dont mind paying abit for your handset)
i have the s700 & definatley recomend a sony ericsson. the best manufacturer by far

i had the Samsung 3700 and found it realtively easy to use, assume the D500 has the same sorta interface ?
Just looked @ the S700 looks rather nice, and i've got a T610 at the moment, housemate has the K700 and it works very nice. Impressed by it must admit

Sony ericsson
I sold Steve a K700i today I should be a bloody rep for sony ericsson i swear!
Ace fone!
D500 is nice, orange one im not sure if it differs but they have i think installed a little shortcut menu on the main screen which is a pain in the arse!
Get an S700, k700i, p910i, k500i, T610/T630 V800 or dont bother

yep its only the Orange version that has the little shortcut
as for ease of use- the menu is differant to the E700.
the D500 uses a grid menu(all the options on screen at once) & i find that some of the buttons can be fiddily to get to( especially the up button) It really pissed me off when i used it. also the bottom row of buttons on the keypad are a little tricky to get to cos theres a lip around the bottom of the phone

also i think the top left & top right buttons are too far away from the screen. they should be higher

nice looking phone but not great to use. so many people coming into my work asking about it so it is gonna be a well common phone soon. best phones around are prob the nokias at the moment.

bet you cant do the 6630
not even the boffins over at the nokia boards can as it has a new DCT5 version.
And vodafone have installed protected settings so once its installed you cannot remove mms/gprs settings to be replaced with new ones
