uploading pics now

was comming of the bypass near me and the rattle got much much worse

i was on the way to the scrappy to collect the new engine

got to a flyover and bang lots of rattling and stuff started bouncing off the underside off the engine, chasis,

its now pouring smoke batman style up hill
so i keep the throttle flooded and im swearing at the fucker to make it up the hill

other side i made it 1/4 mile along the road and a set of lights changed to red
i decid to put it into first and up the revs to keep it going, as soon as i relaesed the clutch the front wheels locked there was another bang and it died-- still pouring smoke

i pulled into a empty taxi rank

and the engine unloaded its oil/coolent all over the floor

rac towed me home dude the guy said it was a safty hazzard towing whilst its leaking oil my reply to him-- its alright theres none left

here are the pics

what exited the engine--pison con rod the usual

engine removed

block

with a hole in it

and the piston cylinder
looking at from the out side

and the bits again

best coversation was with the breakdown lady on the phone
her: whats wrong with it, do you know
me: i need a tow truck
her: why?
me: the insides of the engine---are on the outside

Stupid question but what obvious signs are there that the oil pump is dead?

Just wondered as it was replaced in my engine once upon a time according to the service history...
