I'm thinking of buying a personalised plate for two reasons. 1. it'll look good 2. It will be worth more in a few years time.

So I was just wondering what personalised registrations people have bought in the past and how much they have sold them on for. I'm not looking to make loads of money out of it, just not lose money when I come to sell it eventually.

I bought B19 VEC for 399, paid 105 to retain it and sold it for 500. Do the maths.

You'd be lucky to make money unless its a fairly special one that no one has stumbled across yet.

Personalised plates are only worth what someone's willing to pay for them.

You can go out and buy the perfect Corsa numberplate and ask a grand for it, but if no-one's interested does it mean it's still worth £1000?

obviously M4RTY and the like are both expensive and hard to come by (£25k upwards asking price) so this will do till one comes along

M2RTO sold for 1000 on ebay last month

dad bought BAZ 5358 (1953 his DOB 1958 my mams DOB) he paid 400 for that and its worth more to him then any other barrys out their due to the numbers

You can do a lot of things with 85k Think it's time to start searching the DVLA site

at the end of the day unless you are lucky you're not going to make much money on one once you've paid all the dvla fees etc... as if they were so desirable they'd be snapped up

if you worked for a car company and you knew before most future model names for cars then you might have a chance but otherwise
