Got the chance of buying a nova gsi motor would i be able to drop this stright into my corsa sri with the same loom? also will all the mountings be the same? the nova motor is a 8v and my sri is an 8v also

nah will not be as easy as that
Differant mounts (2 are the same)
differant loom ECU etc etc

Witch mount is diffrent and could i us the one off the nova ? its a full car the lad has got so can get box ecu n loom just thougt if the loom is the same i could just use mine if not what sort of job is it fitting the nova loom? or would you suugest leaving it n getin a 2.0l 8v like i planned origanily

both as much work as each other
Make a Drivers side mount
use the corsas Bottom harness and the join nova top harness to the corsa down in the foot well

nice one when you say top and bottom harness what do you mean ? know its the loom but ?

on a corsa you have 2 wiring looms (i class them as anyway)
- a top on (which runs over the driver side top strut onto the engine)
- a bottom one (which comes out of the bulk head)
the bottom one is for Starter motor alternator etc etc, all i do it swop this over to the new engine (alot tidyer and easyer as it all plugs in) so i take the + and - off the starter on the old engine and put it on the + - on the new engine etc etc
then you run the new top wiring harness off the engine into the Footwell, and join it to the wires there.

right so the "bottom" corsa harnes stays on the car and use that for the nova engine but use the "top" nova harness instead of the corsa 1 that right ? lol next how do i wire in the nova harness into the corsa? or dose this jus got stright into the ecu?

Hold on a minute if you have the 8v SRi which you say you do, the mounts will be exactly the same, EXACTLY the same.
You will need to use the Nova GSi engine loom and wire it into the Corsas car loom.

Its a very easy conversion to do, you can use the Novas gearbox but will need to use Corsa driveshafts as they are slightly longer, but there not difficult at all to change just give them a fierce tug to remove.
As for the wiring, no way I have no idea mate thats why I got Lee to do mine.

im a mechanic so the conversion i can do ive removed n replaced loads of engines @work but never a swap to a bigger motor so geting it in isnt a prob just the wireing im not great with 
was goin to do the 2.0l 8v but got the chance of a nova gsi so thought why not

Lot less hassle with the Nova engine, won't need different mounts or need to make your own driveshafts.

The lad has pulled out of selling me the car  well any 1 know where theres a nice nova gsi engine loom n what have you kicking about?
