To get that money in IT you'll need to be overseeing a fairly large network, maybe have some staff.

i just feel that i'm expected to do too much for what i earn.

am basically doing complete house design, now including surveys, talking to clients, all the foundations and services, dealing with all the building reg's, the whole lot, even meant to be doing the orders for materials.

been spoken to today by the boss, saying i'm not doing enough

How long have you been there?
If your doing all that i would expect you to be on atleast 25k.
Where abouts are you from?

as for an arguement, it sounds like you do most of all the work.
If there is no-one else who does the work you do you can ask for more money.

Just tell your boss you dont think your wage justifies what you do in the company, and its stressing you out

i've been here just over a year.

this is what piss's me off.

Is a bloke who works from home a few hours drive from the office, he been here 4-5years, earn double my wages and then some.

i've been helping him learn how to use the software and prepare proper drawings as he only designs frames and never done a b'regs application or any foundation settings out etc

so i do quite a bit more than him

if i don't get a pay rise i will quit i think
