who's the better company to go with....?

do you have to get the site hosted by them, or can you forward to a current domain and mask the address?

i-websolutions.co.uk is who i use and there great They do loads of packages for like 20 quid a year etc etc

If you have a domain already, then you just setup in the control panel of your domain people to point to the name servers of the hosting company etc etc

As for domains, i use 1&1 There pretty good and cheap as chips on the .co.uk domains

get a cheap domain like Dom says at 1&1 then just forward it on to some decent free space or cheap hosting.

your ISP has a free webspace when you get your connection i think... depends on what you want the site for really..

if it's for fun check your ISP or use one of the sites provided
