hopefully get it this week, im quite chuffed
went in to local shop today to see bout an adapter to connect to my dvd player but he said id need an expansion unit as the adapter takes away the cd changer any1 no if this is right or what i can do that aint gonna cost me £150??

i've got the 9832 i'm thinking it should be near enough the same. all u need is a extra lead that plugs into a socket at the back (not into the cd changer socket) and then u plug your device i.e dvd player, into the lead via phono's.
i got my lead from car audio direct for £16 i think.

yes you need the adaptor rly, dno how alpine works but for time being ive got my bus cable still plugged into the cd changer but run the rca's to the dvd rather than the cd changer, so headunit still thinks its playing from cd changer but its coming from dvd as ive changed audio leads over, dno if that would work on alpine coz i dno if its just one lead or it has seperate rca's mines sony btw.

yeah mo i thot this was the situation but the guy said if i got the adapter i was doing away with cd changer, thot this may be shite on a £500 headunit

on mine it has a extra slot at the back for 'aux' items, the cd changer slot it still free to use.

AFAIK Ai-Net only allows one device at a time, so you need the adaptor to let you plug in multiple toys like iPod, cd changer, etc.
