When fitting DVD screens e.t.c.. in the center console of the corsa people often re-locate the MFD, can the MFD just be un-plugged and binned as it serves no purpose to me anymore. I heard it was part of the ECU and the car doesn't work if it's removed. That sounds stupid to me, but I need to double check. Have an idea for when I get back see

You can just unplug it, but the wiring will still have information for the temperature - if you don't modify the plug, all the temperature readings will go down the back of your dash and end up in the footwell
