Just brought some under car LED's. I was just wondering about wiring up, they are pretty basic.each tube has a lead coming from them and they each plug into an invertor box type thing. this then plugs into a display/control box which controls the fuctions speed etc. this however plugs into the fag lighter. I would prefer it if i could wire it up to my healights.

Right the question, to wire up to the headlights do i just cut off the cigarette lighter plug and wire the mains and earth from the functions box to the mains n earth on one of the healights?

is it that simple or will it involve more?

What if you've got it wired to your headlights, and the Police tell you to turn the undercar LEDs off? What then? Turn your headlights off too?
Wire them into their own switch, not the headlights.

or wire a switch from the lights so they come in with headlights but could manually turn them off with the switch

that is a good point but i should have mentioned that the control box has an on off switch too, basically this box has a led display showin you which funtion they r set too. it has a speed alterator and an on/off switch. jus figured if i wired it to summin like my lights i cud have it on without engine runnin n also wont have a big plug stickin out of fag lighter n everythin can be tucked away, wires etc. so is it really jus a case of findin the headlight main and earth?

Just find a permanent live, there's one going to your cigarette lighter. Tap into the wire BEHIND your cigarette lighter for a perm live, and there's an earth somewhere near by.

i have used the cig lighter lives etc on some internal neons, only problem wit this is that the electrics have to be on, meaning the ignition has to be turned up to the second notch, if u get wot i mean, however the headlights can go on without having to do this. Its on a C by the way so how easy is it to find the power and earth for the headlamps to wire this into and is it jus cutting of the fag lighter end??

Yes, just cut that end off.
Run a permanent live from the battery, or tap into the one behind your headunit (the headunit has 1 ignition live and 1 permanent live). Seriously, it's a better idea than tapping into your headlights.

Don't put it off your amp, nor off your headlights.
Run a dedicated live with a fuse, or, at worst, tap into the headunit's perm live and earth.

buy a proper connector as it risks coming loose and causing sparks if u just clamp it.if u run both pos and earth through bulk hed then jus find an earth point under bonnet.easier to check if it doesnt work and has no way at all of interference wiv ur amp.
