10% on first 1900 I think, then 23% on everything over that. 11k a year is 916 a month before tax & NI, looking at £750-800 take home, cant be arsed to work it out any closer than that at the mo tho.

First £4615 is free, next £2020 is 10%, 2021-31400 is 22%, and over is 40%...
National insurance is fixed rates depending on total earnings...
He'd take home £9022 after tax and NI (£751.83 a month)

PS: I'm not tragically sad, I just have a tax calculator
