Basically it stops the car from pitching to the side while taking corners at speed.

I think if you remove it when you have a bigblock engine fitted it encorages the car to over/under steer dunno which but i think people preffer it. Personally i would keep it

I was speakin to a bloke that's got an XE nova on TB's that he uses for rallying, he was sayin he took his off to help reduce the under steer you get.

i put on a gsi front one recently and the main difference is the suspension is not so crashy + it made a small bit of difference in the handling.
i but on a whiteline rear ARB over the weekend and it has totaly transformed the handling... the rear is like glue....

I had a weedy 1.2 16V anti-roll bar on mine but since getting the 2.0 redtop lump fitted and swapping all the suspension to GrpA Tarmac spec I removed it and found it helped reduce understeer.
Just have a go without yours, its just a few nuts and bolts if you wanna put it back on at the end of the day...

iv removed mine as it induced understear wit hthe coilovers etc, and found that there wasnt much body roll with my suspension set up anyway.

General rule with coilovers is fit harder front springs and get rid of the roll bar. I think 280lb front springs are PERFECT for the redtop 2.0 16V engine in a corsa and 260lb for the 1.6 16V.

Fitted both front & rear ARB's to my corsa, only OE ones but since they dint have em as standard it did help. Its lowered 40mm on spax shocks/springs so wasnt much body roll anyway but it did reduce it still, made it a smoother ride 2! Do seem to have a bit more understeer tho so i guess it depends which u'd rather

so get some 280ib springs up front with 2.0 and remove anti roll bar? As surley when fitting xe you need something for it to clear the anti roll bar in the first place?

only the exhaust manifold hits on the front ARB.... you use metal blocks to lower it down.... these come in the m-tech fitting kit.

on an xe, speaking from xe nova ownership days this mind,..... the car with a 20xe in has more weight over front wheels. with anti roll bar car slides away from under you on corners. remove it and it brings back more body roll in the car which helps with the extra weight to keep the wheels down on the road and tends to not fly out from under you. ive still got mine on the 20xe corsa, havent yet removed it. corsas seem to understeer less than a nova. probably due to the overall heavier weight of the car initially, and probably designed slightly better.
all down to choice of how you like the feel of the car. if you havent yet removed it, try it really. i think more with small block cars probably better to keep it as it was designed with that engine in mind.

i just wipped the gsi one i put on over christmass off...
the car is like glue! my front tyres are knackered and its still brilliant...
i think the reason y i thought the front ARB was good when i put it on is cos it takes time for tension to build up on it....
its after making a huge difference taking it off...
